people. As pastors we should encourage them in their work. A live missionary society in a congregation is helpful along all lines of church work.

As a Synod we commend the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society for the noble record already made. Our godly women are planning for larger things in the future and deserve the hearty co-operation of every pastor. We bid them God-speed in their work.

Report of Trustees of Tressler Orphans' Home.

The Board of Trustees met in annual meeting in the chapel of the Home June 5th, 1907. Three of your Trustees were present. The Hon. John

Fleisher, so long a member, died before the time of the Board meeting.

There are 216 children now in the Home. This is the largest enrollment in the history of the institution. This increased number of children calls for enlarged beneficence on the part of the Church.

The health of the children has been exceptionally good, the hospital not having been open for a patients during the year.

The Superintendent, teachers and care-takers performed their various duties to the entire satisfaction of the Board, and are worthy of the confidence and support of the entire Church.

The debt on the dormitory is gradually being reduced. There is now owing on this magnificent building about $2,100.00. We hope some friend, or friends, will soon lift this debt, so that more attention can be given to other necessary lines of development.

We urge pastors and laymen to bring before their people the importance and helpfulness of donations which mean so little to the congregations but so much to the Home.

We recommend that an apportionment of ten cents be made for the support of the Home.

Respectfully submitted,

A. H. SPANGLER,

W. D. E. SCOTT,
I. A. SHAFFER, JR.

Report of Committee No. 3—On Minutes of Juniata Conference. Your committee appointed to examine the minutes of the Juniata Conference would report that the minutes have been neatly kept.

We find on record a resolution calling the attention of Synod to the manifest indifference on the part of many pastors in that they allow trivial reasons to prevent their attendance upon the meetings of conference, and in consequence of whose absence conference has been seriously marred.

We recommend that the pastors who have not been excused by the convention be reproved.
