CHARGES, SPEECHES. ETC. BY HENRY MOORE, ARCHDEACON OF STAFFORD, AND CANON RESIDENTIARY OF LICHFIELD. PREFACE. THE tenderness of love, and the respect, which many of those who knew what he was, have shown to the memory of my dear husband, have made me feel that a volume containing some of his spoken and written words could not be without value to them. Therefore, together with his Charges, I have endeavoured to select such memorials of his speeches and his work, as may remind those who knew him of his labours in the service of Christ, and for the welfare of his fellow-creatures. |
