HYMN 87.

MASTER, we would no longer be
Loved by the world, that slighted Thee,
But gladly in Thy footsteps go,
Thy sorrow, as thy joy to know-
Content, life's darkest ills to brave,
So that Thy banner o'er us wave;
Content, to tread life's roughest sea,
So that it sever not from Thee.

We welcome still Thine own pledged word,
"The cross shall have its sure reward,"
Yet a few days, or months, or years,
Joy reaps the harvest, sown in tears;
We wait to hear Thee, Saviour, say,
"Awake, arise, and come away,
Rise on the wings of angels, rise,
And follow me to Paradise."

HYMN 88.

To God be glory,―peace on earth,
Good will to mortals shewn ;
We praise, we bless, we glorify,
We worship Thee alone.

Thou, with the Holy Ghost,-oh Christ,

Whom earth, and heaven adore,

High in the Father's glory art,

Most high for evermore.

HYMN 89.

PRAISE the name of God most high,
God, whose glory fills the sky!
Peace on earth, and man forgiven,
Man, the well beloved of Heaven.

Hail, by all Thy works adored!
Hail, the everlasting Lord!
All Thy marvels we confess,
Infinite and numberless.

Thee, oh Christ, th' Incarnate Son,
With the Holy Ghost, we own;

Thee, the Prince of life adore,
O'er all worlds Conqueror.

Praise the name of God on high;
Praise Him, all beneath the sky;
Give unto our Lord above,
Praise, eternal as His Love.

HYMN 90.

AGAIN the Lord of life, and light,
Breaks forth with healing ray,
Unseals the eyelids of the morn,
And gives us back the day.

Oh! what a night was that, which wrapt
The ancient world in gloom!

Oh what a sun was that, which broke
From the Redeemer's tomb !

The powers of darkness vainly leagued
To hold the Conqueror down ;-
He shook their kingdom, as He fell,
And spoil'd them of their crown.

All climes, all kindreds, lift your songs,
To hail this happy morn,

Which scatters blessings from its wings
On nations, yet unborn.

HYMN 91.

OH Thou, whom neither time nor space
Can circle in, unseen, unknown,

Nor faith in boldest flight can trace,

Save through Thy Spirit, and Thy Son!

And Thou that from Thy bright abode,
To us in mortal weakness shown,
Didst graft the manhood into God,
Eternal, co-eternal Son!

And Thou, whose unction from on high,

By comfort, light, and love is known! Who, with the parent Deity,

Dread Spirit! art for ever one!

Great First and Last! Thy blessing give!
And grant us faith, Thy gift alone,
To love, and praise Thee while we live,
And do whate'er Thou wouldst have done!

HYMN 92.

Он help us, Lord! each hour of need
Thy heavenly succour give;

Help us in thought, and word, and deed,
Each hour on earth we live.

Oh help us, through the prayer of faith
More firmly to believe;

For still the more the servant hath,
The more shall he receive.

If strangers to Thy fold we call,
Imploring at Thy feet

The crumbs, that from Thy table fall,

2

'Tis all we dare entreat.

But be it, Lord of Mercy, all,

So Thou wilt grant but this:
The crumbs, that from Thy table fall
Are light, and life, and bliss.

Oh help us, Jesus! from on high;
We know no help but Thee:
Oh, help us so to live, and die,
As Thine in heaven to be!

HYMN 93.

FOOD, raiment, dwelling, health and friends,
Thou, Lord, hast made our lot;
With Thee our bliss begins, and ends,
As we are thine, or not.

For these we bend the humble knee,
Our thankful spirits bow;

Yet from thy gifts we turn to Thee :-
Be Thou our portion, THOU!

HYMN 94.

IN token, that thou shalt not fear
Christ crucified to own,
We print this cross upon thy brow,
And seal thee His alone.

Oh, may the Spirit of all power
Confirm the outward sign,

And ten-fold grace, and glory shower
On this freed soul of thine.

This sprinkled water, sprinkle thee
From guilt, and sin, and shame,
Baptized thus unto victory

In Christ, thy Saviour's name,
