When writhing on the bed of pain,
Thy bloody sweat and agony.
Through ev'ry conflict but the last;
HYMN XX. C. M. 1 FROM Calvary's cross, a fountain flows
Of water and of blood,
Or fam'd Siloam's flood.
2 The dying thief rejoic'd to see
That fountain in his day;
Wash all their guilt away. 3 Ne'er shall that fountain's sacred stream
Lose its all-cleansing pow'r,
Be sav'd, to sin no more.
4 Jesus! the virtue of thy blood .
To all our souls apply; . Grant that to Thee we henceforth live,
Grant that to sin we die :5 Till, spotless plac'd at thy right hand,
Safe in the realms above, We cast our crowns before thy throne,
And sing the boundless love.
HYMN XXI. C. M.
With angels round the throne;
But all their joys are one. 2 « Worthy the Lamb that died,” they cry,
“To be exalted thus:” “ Worthy the Lamb,” our lips reply,
“For He was slain for us.”
3 Jesus is worthy to receive
Honour and pow'r divine; And blessings, more than we can give,
Be, Lord, for ever thine. 4 Let all that dwell above the sky,
And air, and earth, and seas, Conspire to lift thy glories high,
And speak thine endless praise.
5 The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred name
On Jewish alters slain, : Could give the guilty conscience peace,
Or wash away the stain.
Takes all our sins away;
And richer blood than they. 3 Believing, we rejoice
To see the curse remove;
And sing his heav'nly love.
HYMN XXIII. C. M.
And loud Hosannahs sung:
And praise on ev'ry tongue. 2 O what a night was that which wrap'd
The heathen world in gloom!
O what a Sun, which broke this day
Refulgent from the tomb! 3 Ten thousand diff'rent tongues shall join
To hail this welcome morn, Which scatters blessings from its beams
On nations yet unborn.
HYMN XXIV. 7. 1 Jesus Christ is ris'n to day--Hallelujah!
Our triumphant holy-day;
Suffer to redeem our loss.
Unto Christ, our Heav'nly King;
Sinners to redeem and save.
Our salvation have procur'd;
HYMN XXV. 7.:
% There the glorious triumph waits ;
Lift your heads, eternal gates!
Take the King of Glory in.
Yet He loves the earth He leaves;
4. Still for us He intercedes;
HYMN XXVI. P. M.
Press around the Saviour's thronie:
2 King of Glory, reign for ever; ;
Thine the everlasting crown!
Happy objects of thy grace! [own?
