12 But forgat what he had done and the wonderful works that he had thewed for them.

13 Marvellous things did he in the fight of our forefathers in the land of Egypt: even in the field of Zoan.

14 He divided the fea, and let them go through: he made the waters to stand on an heap,

15 In the day time alfo he led them with a cloud and all the night through with a light of fire.

16 He clave the hard rocks in the wildernefs and gave them drink thereof, as it had been out of the great depth.

17 He brought waters out of the ftony rock: fo that it gu hed, cu like the rivers.

18 Yet for all this they finned more against him: and provoked the moft Higheft in the w.lderness.

19 They tempted God in their hear's and required meat for

their luft.

20 They (pake against God alfo. faying: Shall God prepare a table in the wilderness?

21 He fmote the tony rock Indeed, that the waters gushed out and the ftreams flowed withal: but can be give bread: alo, or provide flch for his, people?

22 When the Lord heard this, he was wroth fo the fire was kindled in jacob, and there came up heavy difpleafure againtt If rael;

23 Because they believed not in God and put not their truft in his help.

24 So he commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of heaven.

25 He rained down manna alfo upon them for to eat and gave them food from heaven.

26 So men did eat angels' food: for he fent them meat enough. 27 He caufed the east wind to hlow under heaven: and through his power he brought in the fouth west wind.

23 He raived fleth upon them as think as duft and feathered fowls like as the fand of the fea.

29 He let it fall among their tents: even round about their habitation.

30 So they did eat, and were well filled for he gave them their own defire: they were not difappointed of their luft.

31 But while the meat was yet in their mouths, the heavy wrath of God came upon them, and flew the wealthieft of them: yea. and fmote down the chosen imen that were in Ifrael.

32 But for all this they finned yet more: and believed not his wondrous works.

33 Therefore their days did he confume in vanity and their years in trouble.

34 When he flew them, they fought him and turned them carly, and enquired after God."

35 And they remembered that. God was their ftrength and that the high God was their Redeemer.

36 Nevertheless they did but flatter him with their mouth : and diffembled with him in their tongue.

37 For their heart was not whole with him neither continued they ftedfaft in his cove nant..

39 But he was fo merciful that he forgave their misdeeds: and deftroyed them not.

39 Yea, many a time turned he his wrath away and would not fuffer his whole difpleasure to arife.

40 For he confidered that they were bu fleth and that they were even a wind that paffeth away, and cometh not again.

41 Many a time did they provoke him in the wilder nefs and grieved him in the defert,

42 They turned back, and tempted God: and moved the Holy One in ifrael.

43 They thought not of his hand: and of the day when he delivered them from the hand of the enemy;

44 How he had wrought his miracles in Egypt and his wonder in the field of Zoan.

51 He made a way to his indignation, and fpared not their foul from death: but gave their life over to the peftilence;

52 And fmote all the firftborn in Egypt: the molt principal and mightfelt in the dwellings of Ham,

53 But as for his own people, he led them forth like theep: and carried them in the wilder nefs like a flock.

54 He brought them out fafely, that they thuld not fear and erwhelmed their enemies with fea.

55 And brought them within borders of his fanctuary. even to his mountain which he purchafed with his right hand.

56 He caft out the heathen alfo before them: caufed their land to be divided among them for an teritage, and made the tribes of ifrael to dwell in their tents.

57 So they tempted and difpleafed the mott High God: and kept not his teftimonies;

58 But turned their backs, and fell away like their forefathers, tarting atide like a broken bow.

59 For they grieved him with their hill altars and provoked him to difpleafure with their images.

60 When God beard this, he was wroth and took fore dif pleafure at Ifracl,

61 So that he forfook the ta bernacle in Stlo: even the tent that he had pitched among men.

62 He delivered their power into cap.ivity: and their beauty into the enemies' hand.

63 He gave his people over alfo unto the (word and was wroth with his inheritance.

64 The fire confumed their young men and their maides were not Liven to marriage.

65 Their priefts were flain with the fword and there were no widows to make lamentation.

66 So the Lord awaked as one out of fleep and like a giant refrethed with wine;

67 He fmo.e his enemies in the hinder par.s: and put them to a perpe ual thame.

68 He refufed the tabernacle of Jofeph and chofe not the tribe of Ephraim;

69 But chofe the tribe of Judah: even the hill of Sion which he loved.

70 And there he built his temple on high and laid the foundation of it like the ground which he hath made continually.

71 He chofe David alfo his fer vant: and took him away from the sheeptolds,

74 As he was following the ewes great with young ones, he took him that he might feed Jacob his people, and Ifrael his inheri ance.

73 So he fed them with a faithful and true heart: and rul ed them prudently with all his power.

5 Lord, how long wilt thou be angry thall thy jealousy burn like fire for ever?..

6 Pour out thine indignation upon the heathen that have not known thee and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy Name.

7 For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his dwelling place.

8 O remember not our old fins, but have mercy upon us, and that foon: for we are come to great mifery.

Help us, O God of our falvation, for the glory of thy Name: O deliver us, and be merciful unto our fins for thy Name's fake.

10 Wherefore do the heathen fay: Where is now their God!

110 let the vengeance of thy fervants' blood that is shed: be o enly thewed upon the heathen in our fight.

20 let the forrowful fighing of the prifoners come before thee according to the greatnefs of thy power, prevrve thou thofe that are appointed to die.

13 And for the blafphemy wherewith our neighbours have blafphemed thee: reward thou them, O Lord, fevenfold into their bofom..

14 So we that are thy people, and theep of thy patture, thall give thee thanks for ever: and will alway be thewing forth thy praise from generation to gene ration.

18 And fo will not we go back from thee: O let us live, and we thall call upon thy Name.

ING ye merrily unto God our

Strength, make a Chetrul noife unto the God of Jacob.

2 Take the pfalm, bring hisher the tabret: the merry harp with the lure.

3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon: even in the time appointed,

appointed, and upon our folemn feaft day.

4 For this was made a ftatute for Ifrael and a law of the God of Jacob.

7 But ye thall die like men : and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arife, O God, and judge thou the earth: for thou shalt take all heathen to thine inheritance.

PSAL. 83. Deus quis fimilis?

God, keep not ftill filence: OLD not thy tongue, O refrain not thyfel, O God.

2 For lo, thine enemies make a murmuring: and they that hate thee have lift up their head.

3 They have imagined craftily against thy people and taken counsel againft thy fecret ones.

10 Who perished at Endor: and became as the dung of the earth.

11 Make them and their princes like Oreb and Zeb: yea, make all their princes like ha Zeba and Salmana;

12 Who fav, Let us take to ourselves. the houfes of God in poffedion.

130 my God, make them like unto a wheel and as the ftubble before the wind;

14 Like as the fire that burn eth up the wood and as the fame that confumeth the moun

tains.

and defence: the Lord will give grace and worthip and no good thing fhall he withhold from them that live a godly life.

130 Lord God of hofts. bleffed is the man that putte:h his

truft in thee.

PSAL. 85. Benedixifti, Domine. thou art become gra

a raid with thy form.

16 Make their faces athamed, O Lord that they may feek thy

Name.

17 Let them be confounded and vexed ever more and more: let them be put to fhame and perith.

18 And they fhall know that thou whofe Name is Jehovah : art only the moft Higheft over all the earth.

Quam dilecta!

How amiable are thy dwell

2 My foul bath a defire and longing to enter into the courts of the Lord: my heart and my ficth rejoice in the living God.

3 Yea, the fparrow hath found her an houfe, and the fwallow a neft, where the may lay her young: even thy altars, O Lord of hoits, my King and my God.

4 Bleled are they that dwell in thy houfe: they will be alway praifing thee.

5 Bleed is the man whofe ftrength is in thee in whofe heart are thy ways. 6 Who going through the vale of milery, ufe it for a well and the pools are filled with water.

7 They will go from ftrength to ftrength and unto the God of gods appeareth every one of them in ion.

80 Lord God of hofts, hear my prayer: hearken, O God of Jacob. 9 Behold, O God our defender: and look upon the face of thine Anointed.

10 For one day in thy courts: is inoufand.
