The Epiftle. Rom. 8. 12.
RETHREN, we are debtors,

the flesh. For if ye live after the fleth, ye thall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye thall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the fons of God. For ye have not received the fpirit of bondage again to fear: but ye have received the fpirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itfelf beareth witnefs with our fpirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God. and joint heirs with Chrift: if fo be that we fuffer with him, that we may be alfo glorified together.

The Gospel S. Matth. 7. 15. BEWARE of false prophets, which come to you in theep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye thall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles Even fo every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree hat bringeth not forthgood fruit ishewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye thall know them. Not every one that faith unto me, Lord, Lord, thall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Gfeech thee, the Spirit to

think and do always fuch things as be rightful: that we, who cannot do any thing that is good without thee, may by thee be enabled to live according to thy will, through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

The Epifle. I Cor. 10. 1. ORETHREN, I would not that ye thould be ignorant how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all pafled through

the fea; and were all baptized un to Mofes in the cloud, and in the

fpiritual meat; and did all drink the fame fpiritual drink. (For they drank of that fpiritual rock that followed them: and that rock was Chrift.) But with many of them God was not well pleated: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now thefe things were our examples, to the intent we thould not luft after evil things, as they alto lufted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were fome of them; as it is written, The people fat down to eat and to drink, and rofe up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as fome of them commit. ted, and fell in one day three and, twenty thousand. Neither let us temut Chrift, as fome of them alfo tempted, and were deftroy. ed of ferpents. Neither murmur ye, as fome of them alfo murmured, and were deftroyed of the deltroyer. Now all the fe things happened unto them for enfamples: and they are writ ten for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are cone. Wherefore let him that thinketh he flandeth take heed left he fall. There hath no temptati n taken you, but fuch as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not fulfer you to be tempted above that ye are able: but will with the temptaton alfo make a way to efcape, that ye may be able fo bear it.

The Epifle. 1 Cor. 12. 1. ONCERNING fpiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto thefe dumb idols, even as ye 1 were led. Wherefore I give you to underftand, that no man fpeaking by the Spirit of God, calleth Jefus accurfed: and that no man can fay that Jefus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghoft. Now there are diverfities of gifts, but the fame Spirit. And there are differences of adminiftrations, but the fame Lord. And there are diverfities of operations, but it is the fame God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation

healing by the fame Spirit; to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, difcerning of spirits; to another, divers kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues. But all thefe worketh that one and the felfsame Spirit, dividing to every man feverally as he will.

For the days thall come upon thee, that thine enemies thall caft thee round, and keep thee in on a trench about thee, and compafs every fide, and thall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee: and they thall not leave in thee one ftone kneweft not the time of thy vifiupon another; because thou tation. The Epille. Gal. 3. 16. Twere the promites made O Abraham and his feed He falth not, And to feeds, as of many; but as of one; And to hy feed, which is Christ. And this I fay, that the covenant that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot difannul, that it thould make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promife: but God gave it to Abraham by promife. Wherefore then ferveth the law it was added be caufe of tranfgreffions, till the feed thould come, to whom the promife was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one; but God is one. Is the law then aga nit the promifes of God? God forbid for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteoufnefs should have been by the law. But the Scripture hath concluded all under fin, that the promife by faith of Jefus Chrift might be given to them that believe.

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was; and when he faw him, he had compaflion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and fet him on his own beatt, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the hoft, and faid unto him, Take care of him, and whaifoever thou fpendeft more, when come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkeft thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he faid, He that thewed mercy on him. Then faid Jefus unto him, Go, and do thou likewife.
