The typographical part was finished thus far, when its publication was suspended on account of the prevalence of the fever. This delay however, has ultimately proved beneficial, as it has enabled the editor to enrich the publication, by an additional Charge on DUELLING, lately delivered by Judge Rush, which will be found marked No. XI. And to the whole is annexed, the Act of the Legislature of Pennsylvania, respecting Vice, and Immorality: by the perusal of which, the reader will be enabled more fully to appreciate the propriety of the sentiments and duties inculcated by the honorable Judge.] ་ 26-44- RECOMMENDATION. THE following Charges and Addresses of Judge RUSH, have not been published at his expence, nor by his request. A number of gentlemen who had read some of them in the newspapers, were so much impressed, both with the importance of the matter they contain, and the forcible and perspicuous manner in which it is communicated, as to engage them to take measures for the publication of the whole, in a form that should be more durable and more generally useful. With this view they solicited the Judge to furnish them with a complete and correct copy. He kindly complied with the solicitation-and this is all the agency or concern that he has had in the busi ness. The printer who has published this phamphlet at his own risk, agreed to do it, on condition that the Subscribers would previously peruse it, and engage to give their. recommendation of it to the public. They hope to escape the charge of vanity or arrogance, in having fulfilled the condition prescribed-They have read the pamphlet with attention, and do now cheerfully and cordially recommend it, as a most valuable and seasonable publication.
