REPORT OF THE BOARD OF STATUTORY CONSOLIDATION ON THE Simplification of the Civil Practice IN THE COURTS OF NEW YORK CONTAINING THE Consolidated Laws and Amendments Thereto PREPARED BY THE BOARD OF STATUTORY CONSOLIDATION CONSISTING OF ADOLPH J. Rodenbeck JOHN G. MILBURN ADELBERT MOOT CHARLES A. COLLIN Vol. III SUBSTANTIVE LAW 1915 ALBANY J. B. LYON COMPANY, PRINTERS SIMPLIFICATION OF THE CIVIL PRACTICE The Consolidated Laws and Amendments Thereto Vol. III Substantive Law SIMPLIFICATION OF THE CIVIL PRACTICE Vol. III Substantive Law NOTE This volume contains the provisions of a substantive character now in the Code of Civil Procedure. These provisions have been assigned so far as practicable to existing consolidated laws; but when such a course was not advisable, new consolidated laws have been prepared such as the Evidence Law and the Costs, Fees, Disbursements and Interest Law. The Civil Rights Law has been extensively amended so as to include various rights and limitations of actions and provisions now in the Code of Civil Procedure not strictly of a procedural character and not properly within the scope of rules of court or the other consolidated laws. Some of the provisions inserted in the Civil Rights Law might have been placed in the Civil Practice Act, but it was thought best to confine the latter statute to matters of practice and procedure. No intentional change has been made in the substance of the provisions removed to new or existing consolidated laws. The brackets and italics show the changes made. Bracketed matter is to be omitted. This report has been carried down to January 1, 1915, and does not contain the legislation of the session of 1915. Board of Statutory Consolidation. Dated July 1, 1915. |
