9 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses. 10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to. 11 And the children of Israel k Deut. 13. 12. k heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel. 12 And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.

TOW after the death of Joshua
it came to pass, that the

LORD, saying, Who shall go up

3 And Judah said unto Simeon
his brother, Come up with me
into my lot, that we may fight
against the Canaanites; and I
likewise will go with thee into
thy lot. So Simeon went with
him.

4 And Judah went up; and the
LORD delivered the Canaanites
and the Perizzites into their
hand and they slew of them in
d Bezek ten thousand men.

5 And they found Adoni-bezek
in Bezek: and they fought
against him, and they slew the
Canaanites and the Perizzites.
6 But Adoni-bezek fled; and
they pursued after him, and
caught him, and cut off his

7 And Adoni-bezek said, Three-
