The Second Edition of Mr. Austen H. Layard's "Discoveries in Nineveh" will be ready on Saturday. Nearly the whole of the edition has been subscribed for by the trade.

The new part of "The Home and Colonial Library" will be published on the 10th inst., and will contain the "Adventures in the Libyan Desert," by Bayle St. John, Esq.

"The Life and Epistles of St. Paul," edited by the Rev. W. J. Conybeare and the Rev. J. S. Howson, will form 2 vols. 4to. richly illustrated with steel and wood engravings, from drawings by W. H. Bartlett. It will appear in Monthly Parts, and its publication commence shortly. A new work by Mr. Charles Dickens is announced. It will be published Monthly, and the first Part will appear in May next.

A new periodical, devoted to Ornamental Art and Design, commences its course this day it is entitled "The Journal of Design." The first Part has ten actual Fabric Patterns inserted, and thirty Wood Engravings. The work is to advocate better laws, and a better tribunal to protect copyright in designs; and is specially addressed to merchants, manufacturers, retail dealers, designers, and art workmen.

The Rev. J. E. Tyler has in the press- "Meditations from the Fathers of the First Five Centuries," arranged as Devotional Exercises on the Book of Common Prayer.

A New General Ecclesiastical Dictionary, by the Rev. Edward H. Landon, is announced, in 6 vols.

The Rev. William Adams' "Sacred Allegories" will be shortly published, in one volume, with a portrait and memoir of the author.
