MERCANTILE LAW,

PREFACE.

Taking into consideration the great importance of commercial law, it has been thought that the following short work, embodying the law and including the various divisions of the subject, will be found of use to the mercantile community. Having this object in view, the Author has followed the plan that has been found of advantage in his work on “ Arbitrations and Awards,” and has condensed and consolidated the law, where possible, without in any way detracting from its importance, or misleading the mind as to its significance.
