PREFACE.

THE following Prayers were chiefly composed for a few young friends, from the age of twelve to that of eighteen; accordingly some, particularly those which are placed at the end of the collection, will be found of a less juvenile character than others.

A belief that their influence in their original destination was beneficial, having prompted the desire to extend the sphere of their usefulness, they are now, with diffidence, submitted to the public.
