Shall dwell in undisturb'd repose,
Nor fear the trying hour. 2 Angels, unseen, around the saints
Their guardian pinions spread, To cheer the spirit, when it faints,
And shield the sacred head.
The souls that love his name:
He always is the same.
Long as they sojourn here:
What have the saints to fear?
For the Sabbath.
To praise thy glorious name:
By night thy truth proclaim.
And seek thy house of prayer,
And all thy works declare. 3 Though sensual hearts unchanged by grace
Such heavenly joys despise,
Thy day of rest to prize;
Till fix'd within thy courts above,
Far nobler songs we raise ;
Invitation to praise and obedience.
Loud thanks to our almighty King; ,
The praise that to his name belongs. 2 He is our God, our Shepherd He;
His flock and pasture sheep are we;
His Gospel's sacred truths to hear. 8 Come, let us bow before his face, Confess our sins and seek his
grace; Nor like the faithless tribes of old,
Forsake the shelter of his fold.
That we their righteous doom shall share ;
Jehovah the universal sovereign.
And hymns of glory sing;
Praise ye the Lord. Hallelujah.
2 He forni'd the deeps unknown;
He gave the sea its bound;
And his the earth around. Praise, &c. 3 Come worship at his throne,
And bow before the Lord ;
He form'd us by his word. Praise, &c. 4 To day revere his voice,
Nor dare provoke his rod;
Let earth receive her King :
In praise your tongues employ ;
And shout, ye hills, for joy.
The nations as their God;
And send his truth abroad.
Nor thorns infest the ground:
Far as the curse is found.
The majesty of Christ's kingdom. 1 The Lord Jehovah reigns !
Let all the nations fear:
And saints be humbled there. 2 In Zion is his throne;
His honours are divine;
For there his glories shine. 3 Before Him prostrate fall,
And worship at his feet ;
Enthroned on mercy's seat. 4 Jesu, the Saviour, reigns !
Let every creature fear;
And saints be humbled there.
(L. M. ROME.)
Exhortalion to praise God.
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice:
before Him and rejoice. 2 The Lord ye know is God indeed :
Without our aid He did us make :
3 ( enter then his gates with praise :
Approach with joy his courts unto:
For it is seemly so to do. 4 For why? The Lord our God is good; His mercy
is forever sure;
Exhortation to praise God.
Ye nations, bow with sacred joy ;
He can create, and He destroy.
Made us of clay, and form'd us men ;
He brought us to his fold again. 3 We'll crowd thy gates with thankful songs;
High as the heavens our voices raise; And earth, with her ten thousand tongues,
Shall fill thy courts with loudest praise. 4 Wide as the world is thy command ;
Vast as eternity thy love;
