of Kentucky, That it shall be the duty of the adjutant general, and he is hereby required, on or before the first day of April next, to have printed such a núm ber of blank militia returns, for divisions, brigades, regiments, battalions and companies, as will enable him to furnish the commandants of divisions, brigades, regiments, battalions, and companies each⚫

Resolved also, that the public printer be, and he is hereby required, upon the application of the adjutant general, to print such a number of the respec tive blanks as the adjutant general shall require-for which he shall be paid so much as is now allowed by law for such printing, pon producing to the Audi tor cf public accounts, a certificate of the amount of work, from the adjutant general.

RESOLVED, That the interest of this commonwealth, does imperatively require the extinguishment of the Indian claim, to the Territory lying South of the Tennesee river, and within the limits of the Southern boundary line of Kentucky.

Resolved. That our senators and representatives in Congress, be severally requested to procure from the proper authorities of the General government, the adoption of such measures as will effect this desirable and important object.

Resolved, That the Governor of this commonwealth be requested to transmit to each of our senators and representatives in Congress, a copy of the foregoing. resolutions.

RESOLVED by the General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky, That the public printer be directed to print immediately, fifteen hundred copies of the act passed at the last session of the legislature, altering the mode of taking in lists of taxable property, in this commonwealth," together with the amendments thereto, passed at the present session of the legislature and annex thereto the form of a list headed" form of commissioner's books," in the 24th section of an act passed the 21st of December, 1799, entitled "an act to amend and reduce int, one the several acts establishing a permanent revenue," and lodge them with the secretary for the time being, to be deposited in the several county court clerks offices in the commonwealth, for the use of such persons as may be appointed to take in lists of taxable property.

RESOLVED by the General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky, That our senators and representatives in Congress, be requested to oppose a renewal of the charter of the bank of the United States.

Resolved, That the Governor be, and he is hereby requested to transmit copies of the foregoing resolution to our senators and representatives in Congress as soon as possible.

WHEREAS it appears to the present General Assembly, that the number of Hardin's Reports of the decisions of the court of appeals, which were subscribed for in behalf of the commonwealth, have been deposited with the secretary of state, subject to such disposition as the legislature shall deem expedient. And whereas it is thought proper that some distribution thereof should be made :

RESOLVED by the General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky, that the secretary of state be, and he is hereby directed, to distribute said reports, or so many copies thereof as shall be sufficient, to the respective por

ons hereafter named, to wit.To the judge of the United States circuit court one copy, to the judge of said district court 'one copy; to the clerk of each of said courts one copy, to each of the judges of the court of appe als; to each circuit and associate judge in this commonwealth, one copy each; to the clerk, of the general court, court of appeals, and each circuit and county court one copy; which copies shall be distributed at the time, and in the manner that the acts of the present session of the General Assembly are directed to be distributed; and the said copies when so distributed, shall be considered as attached to the respective offices, and shall pass with the same.

THE General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky, have taken under consideration the section submitted by the senate and house of represen tatives of the United States of America, as an amendment to the constitution of the United States, proposing, that,

If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honor, or shall, without the consent of Congresss accept "and retain any present, pension, office or emolument of any kind whatever, from any Emperor, King, Prince or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them;"

WHEREUPON, Resolved, that the assent of the state of Kentucky be, and it is, by the legislature thereof, hereby given to the said proposed amendment to the constitution of the United States; and on the part of the said state of Ken. tucky, it is assented that the said section be adopted, and shall be valid and binding as a part of the constitution of the United States, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the States.

Resolved, That the Governor of this commonwealth be requested to communicate the foregoing resolution to the senate and house of representatives of the United States, and to the Governor of each of the states.

WHEREAS it is important to the prosperity of the United States, that the infant manufactories thereof should be protected, and the exports of the manufactured articles of our country encouraged by restricting and protecting duties and whereas it is conceived that those desirable objects have been, and will continue to be retarded, so long as greater advantages and encouragement are held out to importers of foreign manufactures, than to exporters of our own; and those objects can only be attained by the interference and acting of Congress upon the subject-Therefore.

Resolved by the General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky-That our senators in Cons ress be directed, and our representatives be requested to day before Congress, a memorial upon the foregoing subject, from the mechanics and manufacturers of Kentucky, and use their endeavors to effectuate the objects represented therein.

Resolved, That the Governor be requested to enclose a copy of the forego ing resolution to each of our senators and representatives in Congress. APPROVED, JAN. 31, 1811.

RESOLVED by the General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky, That the Public printer be, and is hereby directed, to print fifteen hundred copies of the amendment to the militia laws, passed at the present session, and lodge the same in the secretary's office, at the same time he deposit's the laws of this session. And the secretary is hereby required, to distribute said copies with the laws, so as to furnish one copy to the commandant of each division,

brigade, regiment, battalion and company; as also, one staff officers attached to the militia of this state.

RESOLVED by the General Assembly, That the public printer be, and he is hereby directed, to print 1300 copies of the ACTS passed at this session of the general assembly, and lodge them in good order at the book-birdery of David Niess, junior-whose duty it shall be, immediately to bind the said copies respectively, in substantia! half binding, with leather backs and corners, neatly lettered and rolled-for which he shall receive at the rate of 25 cents for each copy—and shall immediately after having completed the same, deliver them to the secretary of state, who shall distribute them among those entitled thereto ➡Provided, that no person shall be entitled to more than one copy.

RESOLVED by the General Assembly of the commonwealth of Kentucky, That the measures recommended and pursued by the President of the United States to obtain possession of that part of West Florida, alluded to in his procla mation, is highly approved by the legislature of Kentucky-That for ourselves and the people of Kentucky, we pledge a cheerful support and co-operation, in such measures as by the constituted authorities of the General government, shall be adopted relative to the claim so asserted on the part of the United States.
