All loose, all idle thoughts cast out,
And make my very dreams devout. 10. Praise God, from whom &c. (as before.)
The sole possession of me take;
And guard my heart from thoughts impure! 2. Blest angels, while we silent lie,
You hallelujahs sing on high ;
Before the throne, and never rest! 3. I with your choir celestial join
In offering up a hymn divine ;
And bid the night, and world, farewell. 4. My soul, when I shake off this dust,
Lord, in Thy arms I will entrust:
5. Give me a place at Thy saints' feet,
Or some fallen angel's vacant sea:
My soul with heavenly thoughts supply
No powers of darkness me molest.
Close to my bed his vigils keep;
Stop all the avenues of ill.
And thought to thought with me converse;
Sing to my God a grateful song ! 9. Bless'd Jesu, Thou, on heaven intent,
Whole nights hadst in devotion spent !
And all my zeal is soon expired. 10. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all ereatures here below;
Praise Him above, angelic host;
