Prussian Majesty, by a marriage agreed to on both sides between Her Boyal Ilighness the Princess Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa, Priaeesa Boyal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and Duchess of Saxony, eldest daughter of Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and of His Boy al Highness the Prince Consort, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and Bis Boyal Highness the Prince Frederick William Nicholas Charles of Prussia, son of His Boyal Highness the Prince of Prussia, Frederick William Lewis, and nephew of His Majesty the King of Prussia;

The 2 High Betrothed Parties, S3 also His Boyal Highness the Prince Consort, Prince Albert of Saxe-Cobourg and Gotha, and His Boyal Highness the Prince and Her Boyal Highness the Princess of Prussia, haying declared their consent to such alliance; in order, therefore, to attain so desirable an end, and to treat upon, conclude, and confirm the Articles of the said marriage, Her Britannic Majesty, on the one part, and His Prussian Majesty, on the other, have named as their Plenipotentiaries, that is to say:

Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Most Reverend Father iu God John Bird, Archbishop of Canterbury, Primate of all England, nnd Metropolitan, a Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable

Privy Council; the Eight Honourable Robert Monaey Lord Cranworth, a Peer of the United Kingdom, a Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Her Chancellor of Great Britain; the Right Honourable Granville George Earl Granville, a Peer of the United Kingdom, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, President of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council; the Eight Honourable George "William Frederick Earl of Clarendon, a Peer of the United Kingdom, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, and Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, a Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State; the Eight Honourable Henry John Viscount Palmerston, a Peer of that part of the Unitud Kingdom called Ireland, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, and Knight Grand Cross of the .Most Honourable Order of the Batli, a Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, a Member of Parliament, First Commissioner of Her Majesty's Treasury; the Eight Honourable Fox Lord Panmure, a Peer of the United Kingdom, a Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, and Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, one

other of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State; the Eight Honourable Henry Labouchere, a Member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, a Member of Parliament, one other of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State; the Eight Honourable Sir George Grey, Baronet, a Member of Her M-ijeaty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, a Member of Parliament, one other of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State; and the Eight Honourable Sir George Cornewall Lewis, Baronet, a Member of Her Majetty's Most Honourable Privy Council, a Member of Parliament, Chancellor and TJnderTreasurer of Her Majesty's Exchequer;

And His Majesty the King of Prussia, his Excellency Albert Count of Bernstorff, His Majesty's Actual Privy Councillor and Chamberlain, and his Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Her Britannic Majesty, Knight Grand Croes of the Order of the Eed Eagle with Oak Leaves, and of the Orders of St. Januarius of the 2 Sicilies, of the Bavarian Crown for Civil Merit, and of St. Stanislaus of Eussia, Knight Commander of the Order of Christ of Portugal;

"Who, after having communicated to each other their respective full powers, found in good

and due form, have agreed upon and concluded the following Articles:

Abt. I. It is concluded and agreed, that the marriage between Her Boyal Highness the Princess Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa, Princess Boyal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and Duchess of Saxony, eldest daughter of Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and of His Boyal Highness the Prince Concort, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and His Boyal Highness the Prince Frederick "William Nicholas Charles of Prussia, son of His Boyal Highness the Prince of Prussia, and nephew of His Majesty the King of Prussia, shall be solemnized in person, in that part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland called Great Britain, according to the due tenor of the laws of England, and the rites and ceremonies of the Church of England, as soon as the same may conveniently be done.

II. The expenses of the joint establishment of their Boyal Highnesses shall be defrayed out of the appanage of His Boyal Highness the Prince Frederick William Nicholas Charles of Prussia, which is fixed by His Majesty the King of Prussia at 02,000 thalers a-year.

III. Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland will give to Her Boyal Highness the Princess Victoria Adelaide Maria Lousia

a marriage portion of 40,000Z. sterling; the interest and produce of which shall serve as an aid towards defraying the expenses of the joint establishment of their Royal Highnesses.

IV. This portion of 40,000/. sterling shall be handed over to a Commissioner whom His Majesty the King of Prussia shall authorize to receive the same, and shall then be deposited in the Crown Treasury of the Royal House of Prussia-Brandenburg, and shall be made to bear interest according to the principles in force for that fund.

Jn the mean time His Majesty the King of Prussia assigns to Her Royal Highness the Princess Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa the sum of 40,000/. sterling, to be charged upon the Crown Trust Fund {Krvn-Jidei-Commiss-Fonds) to serve as a security until all tbe arrangements on the part of the Royal House of PrussiaBrandenburg in regard to the said portion shall have been fulfilled, when such security shall cease and determine.

The interest and produce arising from the portion of 40,000/. sterling shall be paid every 6 months to the person or persona duly authorized to receive the same on the part of their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess during their joint lives. In the event of the decease of either, the survivor shall enjoy the interest and produce for his or her life.
