vii ÆäÀÌÁö - The powers of the government of the State of Alabama shall be divided into three distinct departments, each of which shall be confided to a separate body of magistracy, to wit: Those which are legislative to one; those which are executive to another; and those which are judicial to another.
viii ÆäÀÌÁö - House shall be the judge of the election, returns, and qualifications of its own members, and a majority of each House shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day and may compel the attendance of absent members in such manner and under such penalties as each House may provide.

All general laws and special acts passed pursuant to this section may be altered from time to time or repealed.

The judicial power of the State shall be vested in the Senate, sitting as a court of impeachment, in a Supreme Court, District Courts of Appeal, Superior Courts, Justices of the Peace, and such inferior courts as the Legislature may establish in any incorporated city or town, or city and county.
