Such perfons as have within two 1708, 4th Dec. years last received Kendrick's charity, or any other annual charity diftributed in the faid borough, have not a right to vote.

Is in fuch perfons only as are owners of ancient burgages in the faid borough, having a right of pafture in a common field called Whitecliffe Pafture.

Thomas Hills, W. W. T. B. and 1710, 17th Feb. J. Y. having been proposed to be made free, and rejected, at a court of affembly; and afterwards made free in the fame mayoralty, are not legal freemen of the port of Rye.

It is not neceflary the freemen of the port of Rye fhould qualify themfelves according to the Corporation Act, before they be allowed to vote in the affembly court of the faid port.

The bailiffs, jurors, and freemen, had not only voices in elections, but also that the election was in the populacy.

To refufe the admiffion of evidence in order to fhew, that in the above determinations of the House, the words, “bailiff, jurors, and freemen," mean, "fuch bailiff, jurors, and freemen only, as are refident within the faid town and port."

That the whole parishes of St. Chad, St. Mary, St. Alkmond, St. Julian, the Holy Crofs, and St. Giles, and the feveral vills of Hadnall, Acton, Reynold, Meriden, Hanwood, Grinfell, Ollerton, Onflow, Preston, Gubald, Pimley, and Merival, are not within the borough of Shrewsbury, or the fuburbs thereof.

That the feveral vills of Birton, Betton, Alkmear, Lengwar, Calcot, Whitley, Welback, Upper and Lower Roffal, Shelton, Qxon,Woodcot, Horton, Munkmeal, and Goofehill, in the parish of St. Chad's; Great and Little Berwick, AlmondPark, Newton, Albright-Hufley, Cotton-Hill, Leaton, Afley, Merrington, Wollafcot, Sanfaw, and Clive in the parish of St. Mary [F]

before they proceed to election.

The outliving burgeffes, as well as the burgeffes inhabitants, and other inhabitants paying fcot and lot, have a right to vote for the town and county of the town of Southampton.

That the perfons inhabiting in the Mint, or rules of the Queen's Bench, in the borough of Southwark, and paying a rent of ten pounds per an- num, or upwards, have not a right to vote, though they do pay scot and lot within the faid borough.
