AN ACT To promote the foreign policy, security, and general welfare of the United

States by assisting peoples of the world in their efforts toward economic development and internal and external security, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That this Act may be cited as “The Foreign Assistance Act of 1961.” 1
