57 ÆäÀÌÁö - Commission, may conduct hearings. (f) Members of Congress who are members of the Commission shall serve without compensation in addition to that received for their services as Members of Congress ; but they shall be reimbursed for travel, subsistence, and other necessary expenses incurred by them in the performance of the duties vested in the Commission.
4 ÆäÀÌÁö - Any vacancy in the Commission shall not affect its powers, but shall be filled in the same manner in which the original appointment was made.
3 ÆäÀÌÁö - The Commission is authorized to secure from any department, agency, or independent instrumentality of the executive branch of the Government any information it deems necessary to carry out its functions under this Act; and each such department, agency, and instrumentality is authorized and directed to furnish such information to the Commission, upon request made by the Chairman, or the Vice Chairman when acting as Chairman.
10 ÆäÀÌÁö - Commission deems advisable. Any member of the Commission may administer oaths or affirmations to witnesses appearing before the Commission or any subcommittee or members thereof.
56 ÆäÀÌÁö - Congress, to employ such clerical and other assistants, to require by subpena or otherwise the attendance of such witnesses and the production of such books, papers, and documents, to administer such oaths, to take such testimony, and to make such expenditures, as it deems advisable.
10 ÆäÀÌÁö - A director and assistant director of the Legislative Reference Service and all other necessary personnel, shall be appointed by the Librarian of Congress without regard to the civil-service laws and without reference to political affiliations, solely on the ground of fitness to perform the duties of their office.
