But in case any city, village or town shall have and maintain a system of waterworks with sufficient pressure for fire purposes with one or more hose companies of not less than ten active members, each having not less than five hundred feet of sound rubber, leather or other hose, with one or more hose carts kept fit and ready at all times for actual service, such city, village or town shall not be required to maintain a fire engine and the fire department shall be entitled to receive the two per centum named in this section. If any such underwriter or agent shall fail to file the bond or Penalty for failure of agent to pay duty. make the report or payment herein provided for the commissioner of insurance, shall upon satisfactory proof thereof, notify the company represented by such underwriter or agent that he is in default and that if such default continues for thirty days after the date of such notice he will revoke the license of such company and all of its agents to do business in this state for the unexpired portion of the year, and at the expiration of such time he shall revoke all of such licenses and shall not renew them or any of them so long as such default continues. Ch. 34 § 2 05 c 108 Chairman of county board appoint four Terms of office of. CHAPTER 34. AN ACT to authorize the appointment of a board of trustees of homes for dependent children. The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: SECTION 1. In all counties in this state empowered to wherein there has been established a home for dependent children, the chairman of the county board is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint four persons as trustees of said home, no more than two of whom shall belong to the same political party. The terms of office of said trustees shall be one, two, three, and four years respectively from the fifteenth day of March 1899, and thereafter when the term of office of any trustee shall expire, his successor shall be appointed for the term of four years. Any vacancy occurring shall be filled for the unexpired term. Such trustees shall receive no compensation. Duties of $3 C 34 '99 84, 85,86,8788, SECTION 2. Such trustees when appointed and qualified shall have entire charge of the management of said home, and may make rules and regulations for its government. They shall report their doings to the county board quarterly and at such other time as the board may direct. They may be removed from office, for misconduct or neglect of duty, by an affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the county board; but only after hearing and an opportunity to be heard according to the usual mode of procedure.
