ADVERTISEMENT TO THE THIRD EDITION,

In this Edition 140 pages have been added to the Notes, and about 1750 new authorities have been cited. The case of Croft v. Day (7 Beav. 232), and the note thereon upon Trade Marks, have been omitted, as the law on the subject now depends so much upon Acts of Parliament and rules made in pursuance thereof. For the sake of convenience. of reference in the Notes, the order in which the principal Cases follow each other in former editions has been somewhat changed.

The alterations made by the Bankruptcy Act, 1883 (46 & 47 Vict. c. 52), in such parts of the law of Bankruptcy as are treated of in the Cases and Notes in this volume, have been carefully noticed and commented on.

The Addenda include the Cases reported in the Law Reports of the 1st of January, 1884.

January, 1884.
