5 Till, spotless plac'd at thy right hand,.
Safe in the realms above,

We cast our crowns before thy throne,
And sing thy boundless love.

HYMN 217.

1 LORD Jesus, shall it ever be? A mortal man asham'd of Thee!

Scorn'd be the thought by rich and poor: I scorn it more and more.

O may

2 Asham'd of Jesus! of that friend,
On whom our hopes of heaven depend!
No: rather this be all our shame,
That we no more revere his name.

3 Asham'd of Jesus! yes, I may
When I've no guilt to wash away;
No tears to dry, no joys to crave,
No fears to quell, no soul to save.
4 Till then, nor is the boasting vain,
Till then I'll boast a Saviour slain
And oh! may this my portion be,
That Saviour not asham'd of me!

HYMN 218.

1 JERUSALEM! Jerusalem!
Enthroned once on high,

Thou favour'd home of God on earth,
Thou heaven below the sky!

Now brought to bondage with thy sons,
A curse and grief to see,

Jerusalem! Jerusalem!

Our tears shall flow for Thee.

2 Oh! hadst thou known thy day of grace, And flock'd beneath the wing

Of Him, who call'd thee lovingly,
Thine own anointed King!-

But now thy day is sunk in night,
Thy time of mercy spent;
For heavy was thy children's crime,
And strange their punishment.

3 O gaze not idly on their fall,
But, Gentile, warned be!
For wo to every barren graft
Of thy wild olive tree!
To thee is given a day of grace,
Thy noon is in its prime;

O turn, and seek thy Saviour's face,
In this accepted time.

HYMN 219.

1 OH! why should Israel's sons, once blest, Still roam the scorning world around, Disown'd of heaven,-by man opprest,Outcasts from Zion's hallow'd ground?

2 O God of Jacob! view their race;

Back to thy fold thy wand'rers bring: Teach them to seek thy slighted grace; To hail in Christ their promis'd King.

3 The veil of darkness rend in twain, Which hides their Shiloh's glorious light; The sever'd olive-branch again

Firm to its parent stock unite.

4 While Judah views his birthright gone, With contrite shame his bosom move;

The Saviour he denied-to own,

The Lord he crucified-to love.

Easter.

This season begins with the celebration of our Saviour's Resurrection, as calling forth aspirations of holy joy, lively faith, and devout gratitude ; that glorious event being the evidence of our redemption, and justification by faith in Christ; and a pledge of resurrection to eternal life. Afterwards, we are taught the Gospel obligations and motives to holiness, as our spiritual resurrection to newness of life.

HYMN 220.

1 JESUS Christ, is ris'n To-day, Hallelujah!
Our triumphant Holy-day!
Love's redeeming work is done,
Fought the fight, the battle won.

2 Angels roll the rock away;

Death yields up his mighty prey;
He, who died our souls to save,
Burst the barriers of the grave.
3 Sinners, see your ransom paid!
Peace with God for ever made!
With your risen Saviour rise,
Seek his dwelling in the skies.

4 Christ is risen from the dead;
He has bruis'd the serpent's head;
And the vanquish'd powers of hell,
Swift from heaven like lightning fell.
5 Lo! he rises, mighty King!
Where, O Death! is now thy sting?
Lo he claims his native sky!
Where, O Grave! thy victory ?

6 Soar we now where Christ hath led!
Follow our exalted Head !

Made like him,-like him we rise;
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies.
7 Hail, Thou Lord of earth and heaven!
Praise to Thee by both be given!
Thee we greet, triumphant now;
Hail! The RESURRECTION Thou!

But now thy day is sunk in night,
