Of the foregoing the following shipped from the St. Louis depot were worn but serviceable.

The above calculations are based upon new tentage. It would, therefore, be only fair to charge an estimated value of the worn but serviceable tents, say one-half the cost of new tentage.

The following is a list of supplies, with cost thereof, not including freight to San Francisco, furnished for use of the San Francisco sufferers from quartermaster's depots by the regular supplies branch:

The cost of hire of wagonmasters, teamsters, etc., is not definitely known and therefore not included.

Cost of transportation of troops and supplies in connection with San Francisco disaster.

Cost of operating Burnside to San Francisco not included, but will be about $385 per day.

One hundred and sixty Forbes sterilizers shipped from Philadelphia to San Francisco April 30. Cost not reported.

Seven hundred twenty-four dollars and fifty cents water transportation reported from Seattle is cost of loading and cleaning Burnside. Seven hundred and fifty-six tons supplies shipped from this point for which it is believed no charge will be made by railroads.

Depot quartermaster, San Francisco, reports no bills received and no money paid to date.

Chief quartermaster, San Francisco, has rendered no report. He has been wired to forward same without delay. Respectfully submitted.

From Fort Sheridan, Capt. J. A. Hutton, Twenty-seventh Infantry; from Fort Snelling, Capt. Bjornstad, Twenty-eighth Infantry; from Fort Logan, Lieut. A. F. Dannemiller, Twenty-ninth Infantry; from Fort Sam Houston, Lieut. Goodwin Compton, Twenty-sixth Infantry; from Fort Douglas, Lieut. A. F. Dannemiller, Twenty-ninth Infantry; from Fort Leavenworth, Capt. Peter Murray, Eighteenth Infantry; from Fort Riley, Lieut. George W. Winterburn, Ninth Cavalry; from Vancouver Barracks, Lieut. J. L. Benedict, Fourteenth Infantry; from Fort D. A. Russell, Capt. R. E. Longon, Eleventh Infantry; from Presidio of Monterey, Lieut. F. W. Carrithers, Twentieth Infantry, and from Portland, Oreg., Capt. Jesse M. Baker, quartermaster. Respectfully submitted."
