JE

CII. Jefus our Head and King.
ESUS our triumphant Head, Hal
Rif'n victorious from the dead,
To the realms of glory's gone,
To afcend his rightful throne.
2 Heav'n its King congratulates;
Opens wide her golden gates:
Angels fongs of vict'ry fing;
All the blifsful regions ring.
3 Sinners, join the heav'nly pow'rs:
For redemption all is ours.
None but burden'd finners prove
Blood-bought pardon, dying love.
4 Hail, thou dear, thou worthy Lord;
Holy Lamb, incarnate Word!
Hail, thou fuff'ring fon of God!
Take the trophies of thy blood.

HART.

CIII. Chrift the long-expected Deliverer.
NOME, thou long-expected Jefus,
Born to fet thy people free;

From our fears and fins release us,
Let us find our reft in thee:
Ifrael's ftrength and confolation,
Hope of all the earth thou art
Dear defire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart."
2 Born thy people to deliver;
Born a child and yet a king;
Born to reign in us for ever,
Now thy gracious kingdom bring:
By thine own eternal fpirit,
Rule in all our hearts alone:
By thine all-fufficient merit,
Raife us to thy glorious throne.

MADAN'S C.

CIV. Chrift the Lord of all.

I LL hail, the pow'r of Jefu's name!
Let angels proftrate fall:

Bring forth the royal diadem,

To crown him Lord of all.

2 Crown him, ye martyrs of your God,
Who from his altar call;
Extol the ftem of Jeffe's rod,
And crown him Lord of all.

3 Ye chofen feed of Ifrael's race,
A remnant weak and fmall;
Hail him who faves you by his grace,
And crown him Lord of all.
4 Ye Gentile finners, ne'er forget
The wormwood and the gall;
Go, spread your trophies at his feet,
And crown him Lord of all.

5 Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe
On this terreftrial ball,
To him all majesty ascribe,
And crown him Lord of all.

6 O that, with yonder facred throng,
We at his feet may fall;

I

There join the everlasting fong,
And crown him Lord of all.

PERRONETT.

CV. Chrift the King of Zion.
E fubjects of the Lord, proclaim
The royal honours of his name;
Jehovah reigns, be all your fong.
Tis he, thy God, O Zion, reigns,
Prepare thy moft harmonious ftrains,
Glad hallelujahs to prolong.

2 Tremble, ye pageants of a day,
Form'd like your flaves of brittle clay,
Down to the duft your fceptres bend:
To everlafting years he reigns,

And undiminish'd pomp maintains,
When kings, and funs, and time fhall end.
3 So fhall his favour'd Zion live;
In vain confed'rate nations ftrive,
Her facred turrets to destroy;

I

Her Sov'reign fits enthron'd above,
And endless pow'r, and endless love,
Enfure her fafety, and her joy. DODDRIDGE.
CVI. The Kingdom of Chrift.

REJOICE, the Lord is King;

Your God and King adore;

Mortals, give thanks and fing,
And triumph evermore:

Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice;
Rejoice aloud, ye faints, rejoice.

The Saviour Jefus reigns,
The God of truth and love;
When he had purg'd our ftains,
He took his feat above:
Lift up your hearts, &c.

3 His kingdom cannot fail,
He rules o'er earth and heaven;
The keys of death and hell
Are to our Jefus given:
Lift up your hearts, &c.
Rejoice in glorious hope,
Jefus the judge fhall come,
And take his fervants up
To their eternal home:

We foon fhall hear th' archangel's voice,
The trump of God fhall found, rejoice.

CVII. Chrift, our King and Saviour.
EE, Lord, thy willing fubjects bow,
Adoring low before thy throne:
Accept our humble, cheerful vow,
Thou art our SOVEREIGN, thou alone.
2 Beneath thy foul-reviving ray,
Even cold affliction's wint'ry gloom
Shall brighten into vernal day,
And hopes and joys immortal bloom.
3 Smile on our fouls, and bid us fing,
In concert with the choir above,
The glories of our Saviour king,
The condefcenfions of his love.

RIPPON'S C..

CVIII. The reigning Saviour.
ES, mighty Jefus, thou fhalt reign,

Yrill all thy haughty foes fubmit

Till hell, and all her trembling train,
Become the footstool of thy feet.

2 Then, refcu'd fouls fhall blefs thy pow'r,
Thy arm fhall full falvation bring;
Thy faints, in that illuftrious hour,
Shall conquer, with their conq'ring king.
3 Then, rang'd thy blazing throne around,
The Saviours honours we'll proclaim;
While heav'n's tranfported realms refound
Thy glorious deeds, and precious name.

I:

2..

Before his wheels,
In glad furprife, m
Ye valleys, rife,
And fink, ye hills.

Before thine awful face
Millions of foes fhall fall,
The captives of thy grace,

That grace, which conquers all:
The world fhall know,
Great King of kings,
What wondrous things
Thine arm can do.

Here to my waiting foul,
Bend thy triumphant way;
Here ev'ry foe controul,
And all thy pow'r difplay.
My heart, thy throne,.
Bleft Jefus, fee,
Submit to thee,

To thee alone,

DODDRIDGE.
