Supplementary statement showing the acreage of lands deeded to other companies than the original grantees.

In the column headed St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, (main line) are included the lands deeded to the two roads between St. Paul and Stillwater, the acreage and location of which are as follows:

Total, 229,882.91.

In the column headed Minnesota Valley, are included the lands deeded to the St. Paul and Sioux City-the new name of said railroad-and also those deeded to the Sioux City and St. Paul. The acreage and location of the lands deeded to the latter company are as follows:

Cottonwood, 68,190.94.

Jackson, 23,189,25.

Murray, 8,658.47.

Nobles, 129,794.25.

Tabular statement showing the acreage, by counties, of lands granted to the State of Minnesota as "swamp or overflowed lands" which have been deeded to railroad companies up to December 31, 1872.

N. B.-The lands deeded to the two latter companies are all in odd numbered sections, except a few hundred acres in the counties of Goodhue and Wabasha, which lie within the seven-mile limits of the grant to the St. Paul and Chicago Railway Company, and, with the odd sections in same counties, are the only "lands in place" said company can get, all the rest being selections for indemnity.
