PSALM CII. C. M. 1 W HEN I pour out my soul in pray'r, Do thou, O Lord, attend; To thy eternal throne of grace Let my sad cry ascend. 2 O hide not thou thy glorious face In times of deep distress; Inoline thine ear, and when I call, My sorrows soon redress. Are like an evining shade; With waning lustre fade. No length of time shall waste; From age to age shall last. 175. PSALM CII. C. M. A Missionary Psalm. 1 THE name and glory of the Lord All heathen kings shall fear; When he shall Sion build again, And in full state appear. Nor slights their earnest pray’r; Shall his just praise declare. 3 For God, from his abode on high, His gracious beams display'd : Has all the earth surveyed. He heard their mournful cry, The wretches doom'd to die.. Might celebrate his fame, Loud praises to his name. 76. PSALM CIII. L. M. 1 THE Lord abounds with tender love, And unexampled acts of grace; His willing mercy flows apace. But with his anger quickly part ; More by his love than our desert. 3 As high as heav'n its arch extends Above this little spot of clay, The small respects that we can pay. 4 As far as 'tis from east to west, So far has he our sins remov’d, Has such as fear'd him always lov’d. 5 Let ev'ry creature jointly bless The mighty Lord : and thou, my heart, With grateful joy thy thanks express, And in this concert bear thy part. 177. PSALM CV. C. M. 10RENDER thanks, and bless the Lord; Invoke his sacred name; His matchless deeds proclaim. 2 Sing to his praise, in lofty hymns His wond'rous works rehearse; And subject of your verse, Alone to be ador'd; That humbly seek the Lord. Devoutly still implore; His face for evermore. 78. PSALM CVII. L. M. For an Unfruitful Harvest. 1 A FRUITFUL land, where streams abound, God's just revenge, if people sin, Will turn to dry and barren ground, To punish those that dwell therein. 2 The parch'd and desert heath he makes • To flow with streams and springing wells, Which for his lot the hungry takes, And in strong cities safely dwells. Which gratefully his toil repay; His fruitful seed or stock decay. 4 But when his sins Heav'n's wrath provoke, His health and substance fade away; He feel's th' oppressor's galling yoke, And is of grief the wretched prey. The just a grateful joy shall shew; And thence God's goodness fully know. 79. PSALM CXIII. (6. 8.) God's Omnipotence. I The triumphs of his name record; 4. As far as 'tis from east to west, So far has he our sins remov’d, Has such as fear'd him always lov'd. 5 Let ev'ry creature jointly bless The mighty Lord: and thou, my heart, PSALM CV. C. M.
