Let all the just to God with joy
Let all the list'ning world attend
Let all the lands with shouts of joy
Lord, hear the voice of my complaint
Lord, in thy sacred courts will I
Lord, let me know my term of days
My lot is fall'n in that blest land
My God, my God, why leav'st thou me
My soul with grateful thoughts of love
No change of times shall ever shock
O thou, to whom all creatures bow
O Lord, thy mercy, my sure hope
O Lord, to my relief draw near
O all ye people, clap your hands
O God, my gracious God, to thee
Of useful grain, through all the land
O Israel's Shepherd, Joseph's Guide
O God of Hosts, the mighty Lord
O God our Saviour, all our hearts

come, loud anthems let us sing
O render thanks, and bless the Lord
O praise the Lord, and thou, my soul
O praise the Lord, in that blest place
Save me O God from waves that roll
Since I have plac'd my trust in God
Since mercy is the grace
Sing to the Lord a new-made song
Since whensoe'er in my distress
Stand ye in awe of God's commands

HYMNS.

94.

[blocks in formation]

WAKE, my soul, and with the sun,
Thy daily stage of duty run;

Shake off dull sloth, and early rise,
To pay thy morning sacrifice.
2 Thy talents to improve take care;
For the great day thyself prepare:
Redeem thy mis-spent moments past,
And live this day as 'twere thy last.
3 Lord! I my vows to thee renew:
Scatter my sins as morning dew:
Guard my first springs of thought and will,
And with thyself my spirit fill.

4 Direct, controul, suggest, this day, All I design, or do, or say:

That all my powers, with all their might, In thy sole glory may unite.

5 Let all my converse be sincere ;

My conscience as the noon-day clear;
For thine all-seeing eye surveys,

My secret thoughts, my works and ways.

L

6 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

HARK the glad sound! the Saviour comes,
The Saviour promis'd long!

Let ev'ry heart prepare a throne,
And ev'ry voice a song.

2 He comes, the pris'ners to release,
In Satan's bondage held;

The gates of brass before him break,
The iron fetters yield.

3 He comes, from darkest films of vice
To clear the inward sight;
And on the eye-lid of the blind
To pour celestial light.

4 He comes the broken heart to bind,
The bleeding soul to cure;
And with the riches of his grace
To bless the humble poor.

5 Our glad Hosannahs, Prince of Peace,
Thy welcome shall proclaim;
And heav'n's eternal arches ring
With thy beloved name.
