Thrice holy fount, thrice holy fire!
Our hearts with heavenly love inspire;
Come, and thy sacred unction bring,

To sanctify us while we sing.
3 Plenteous of grace, descend from high,

Rich in thy sev’nfold energy;
Give us thyself, that we may see
The Father and the Son by thee;
Make us eternal truths receive,

And practise all that we believe. 4 Immortal honour, endless fame,

Attend th' Almighty Father's name:
Let God the Son be glorified,
Who for lost man's redemption died;
And equal adoration be,
Eternal Spirit, paid to thee.
114. HYMN XXI. L. M.

Trinity Sunday. 1 FATHER of heav'n! whose love profound

T A ransom for our souls hath found; Before thy throne we sinners bend;

To us thy pard’ning love extend. 2 Almighty Son! Incarnate Word!

Our Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, Lord !
Before thy throne we sinners bend;
To us thy saving grace extend.

3 Eternal Spirit! by whose breath

The soul is rais'd from sin and death;
Before thy throne we sinners bend;

To us thy quick’ning power extend. 4 Jehovah ! Father, Spirit, Son! Mysterious Godhead! three in one! Before thy throne we sinners bend; Grace, pardon, life to us extend. 115. - HYMN XXII. L. M.

Sacramental.
LORD, and is thy table spread ?

And doth thy cup with love o'erflow?
Be all thy children hither led,

And let them all thy goodness know. 2 Hail, sacred feast! which Jesus makes ;

Rich banquet of his flesh and blood !
Thrice happy he, who here partakes

That sacred stream, that heav'nly food. 3 O let thy table honour'd be,

And furnish'd well with joyful guests; May every soul salvation see,

Who here its sacred pledges tastes. 4 Let crowds approach with hearts sincere,

And round thy lowly altar bend:
And having felt thy presence here,
Let not the joy or profit end.

5 Revive thy dying churches, Lord, i

Bid all our drooping graces live; . More of that energy afford,

A Saviour's blood alone can give. 116. HYMN XXIII. C. M.

Sacramental. 1 THIS is the feast of heav'nly wine,

1 And God invites to sup; . The juices of the living vine

Were press'd to fill the cup.
2 O bless the Saviour, ye that eat,

With royal dainties fed :
Not heav'n affords a costlier treat,

For Jesus is the bread.
3 The vile, the lost, he calls to them,

Ye trembling souls appear !
The righteous in their own esteem

Have no acceptance here.
4 Approach, ye poor, nor dare refuse

The banquet spread for you;
Dear Saviour, this is welcome news,

Then I may venture too.
5 If guilt and sin afford a plea,

And may obtain a place,
Surely the Lord will welcome me,

And I shall see his face.

117. HYMN XXIV. · (6.8.).

· Sacramental. 1 NORTH from the dark and storiny sky,

I Lord! to thine altar's shade we fly; Forth from the world, its hope and fear, Saviour! we seek thy shelter here : : Weary and weak, thy grace we pray:

Turn not, O Lord, thy guests away..
2 Long have we roam'd in want and pain,

Long have we sought thy rest in vain
Wilder'd in doubt, in darkness lost,
Long have our souls been tempest-tost:
Low at thy feet our sins we lay;
Turn not, O Lord, thy guests away.
118. HYMN XXV. L. M.

Sacramental. 1 THE rock is cleft! with faith draw near;

1 The rock is cleft! ye sinners hear; A fountain issues from the wound,

And mercy's streams are gushing round. 2 Draw near with faith, why linger thus ?

The table's spread, and spread for us :
For sinners spread, with guilt oppress'd;

For sinners spread, who seek for rest. 3 For pilgrims in a thirsty land,

The waters flow at Christ's command.
Who hungers for the bread from heav'n?
To you the sacred banquet's given.

4 Are any poor? the price is paid :

Are any weak ? oh! why afraid ?
Unworthy any ? e'en for you

There's hope, and love, and pardon too. 5 All things are ready; Lord, we come,

And round thy table seek our home: Thy word our hope, thy grace our food, Our life and seal, thy living blood.

Rev. J. Punnett. 119. HYMN XXVI. L. M.

For a due Improvement of the Sabbath. i THIS is the day the Lord hath blessid,

1 The day to us in mercy given:

The holy sabbath of his rest, : The pledge and type of rest in heaven. 2 This day within thy courts, O Lord,

Thy saints delight to seek thy face,
To sing thy praises, hear thy word,

· Unfold their wants, implore thy grace. 3 May we the blest assembly join;

To God devote the sacred day;
Our earthly cares and thoughts resign,

Look up to heav'n, and learn the way. 4 May we by ev'ry sabbath grow

In grace, humility, and love:
Thus, by thy holy rest below,

Made fitter for thy rest above.
