year eighteen hundred and ninety-four, as transmitted to the legis lature in January, eighteen hundred and ninety-five, to be dis tributed as follows: One thousand copies to the state superintendent of public instruction, to be by him distributed to public libraries. and school district libraries under his charge; eighteen hundred copies to the members of the legislature; and two hundred copies to the state officers, the sum of three thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, payable by the treasurer on the warrant of the comptroller, upon vouchers approved by the superintendent of public instruction and audited by the comptroller.

For repairs, renewals, betterments of buildings, equipment, fixtures, furniture and such additional accommodations in the normal schools of the state as may be necessary, including the equipment and heating of the new normal school at Jamaica, the sum of eighty-six thousand nine hundred and seventy-nine dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be apportioned by the state superintendent of public instruction, and to be expended by the local boards of managers, and payable upon bills audited by the comptroller upon vouchers approved by said superintendent.

For the erection, repairs, improvements and furnishing of schoolhouses upon the various Indian reservations in the state, and for supplies for schools therein, the sum of fifteen hundred dollars, to be expended under the direction of the state superintendent of public instruction, and payable upon bills audited by the comptroller upon vouchers approved by said superintendent.

The sum of nineteen thousand three hundred and fifty-nine dolstruction. lars and seventy cents, being the unexpended balance of moneys appropriated by chapter nine hundred and eighty-seven of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-five for the preparation and publication of the code of public instruction, and its distribution to the several school districts of the state, is hereby reappropriated for the completion of such work.

Educational report, compilation, etc., of.

The sum of three thousand six hundred and twenty-five dollars and thirty-nine cents, being the unexpended balance of moneys appropriated by chapter nine hundred and thirty-two of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-five, for the compilation under the direction of the state superintendent of public instruction, of the reports of the superintendents of other states, foreign countries, and leading cities, and the publication and distribution of the same among educational and state officers and members of the legislature, is hereby reappropriated for the same purpose.

For the superintendent of public works, the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, payable from the canal fund, is hereby appropriated for the payment of the balance now due the contractor for deepening, clearing out and improving the state ditch through Cowaselon swamp, under chapter three hundred sixty-six, laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-five, with interest upon the same from the twentieth day of October, eighteen hundred and ninety-six until the twelfth day after the comptroller is authorized to issue his warrant for the payment thereof, under the provisions of this aet, or until payment, if payment be sooner made. The sum herein appropriated shall be paid by the treasurer on the warrant of the comptroller, upon a certificate of the state engineer and surveyor.

For the superintendent of public works, for deficiency in appropriation, pursuant to chapter three hundred sixty-six, of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-three, chapter five hundred and sixty of the laws of eighteen hundred and ninety-six, for the erection of a lift-bridge over Erie canal at Emerson street at Rochester, the sum of one hundred and seven dollars and forty-seven cents, payable from the canal fund.

STATUTORY REVISION.

For the commissioners of statutory revision, for the prosecution of their work during the year eighteen hundred and ninety-seven and to the close of the annual session of the legislature of eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, twenty-two thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to pay for their services, personal and incidental expenses, clerk hire and printing, as shall be certified to be just and reasonable by the governor, the payment of each commissioner for services not to exceed at the rate of two hundred and fifty dollars per month.
