SIR: I have the honor to transmit herewith for the consideration of Congress, and without revision, a supplemental estimate of appropriation under the legislative establishment, Architect of the Capitol, to be immediately available and to remain available until June 30, 1930, in the sum of $500,000.

SIR: I have the honor to submit herewith for your consideration a supplemental estimate of appropriation pertaining to the legislative establishment, as follows:

Senate wing reconstruction: To rearrange and reconstruct the Senate wing of the Capitol in accordance with the report of the Architect of the Capitol contained in Senate Document No. 161, Sixty-eighth Congress, second session, with such alterations as the Senate Committee on Rules may from time to time approve, to be immediately available and to remain available until June 30, 1930, $500,000, to be expended by the Architect of the Capitol, under the direction and supervision of the said Committee on Rules..

The letter of the Architect of the Capitol submitting this estimate is transmitted herewith.

SIR: I respectfully request that you will approve and forward to the Congress as a supplemental appropriation to the legislative act of 1929, the item stated below for the Senate wing of the Capitol.

SIR: I have the honor to transmit herewith for the consideration of Congress a supplemental estimate of appropriation for the Smithsonian Institution for the fiscal year 1928, to remain available until expended, amounting to $20,000.

The details of this estimate, the necessity therefor, and the reason for its submission at this time are set forth in the letter of the Director of the Bureau of the Budget, transmitted herewith, with whose comments and observations thereon I concur.

tion for the fiscal year 1928, to remain available until expended, amounting to $20,000, as follows:

Cooperative ethnological researches among the American Indians: For cooperation by the Smithsonian Institution with any State, educational institution, or scientific organization in the United States for continuing ethnological researches among the American Indians and the excavation and preservation of archaeological remains, as authorized by act of Apr. 10, 1928, $20,000, fiscal year 1928, to remain available until expended (act Apr. 10, 1928, Public No. 248, 70th Cong.) $20,000 This estimate of appropriation is required by reason of legislation which has been enacted since the transmission of the Budget for the fiscal year 1928. I recommend that this estimate be transmitted to Congress.
