1885-1889.

R. A. Pleasants, LL. B., '84, was recently appointed by the Governor to succeed his father as Associate Justice of the Galveston Court of Civil Appeals.

Thomas D. Hovencamp, LL. B., '85, is tax assessor of Tarrant county. He lives in Birdville.

P. W. Brown, LL. B., '89, is recorder of Palestine.

W. G. Love, LL. B., '89, is president of the school board of Houston Heights, an incorporated suburb of Houston. Mr. Love has in the past served Houston Heights two terms as mayor. He visited the University recently.

1890.

J. H. Arnold, LL. B., '90, is chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee for the Twenty-ninth Judicial District.

B. S. Brown, A. B., '90, who will graduate at the Medical Department next June, probably holds the record for longest attendance in the University. His name appears as a student in eleven catalogues beginning with 1887. For several years Mr. Brown was fellow and tutor in Biology.

A. J. James, B. S., '90, M. D., '99, has located in Houston.

Marvin M. McLean, LL. B., '90, holds a position as expert clerk in the U. S. Department of Labor, Washington, D. C.

R. J. Swearingen, B. Lit., '90, is city attorney of Brenham.

1891.

William D. Bates, LL. B., '91, is manager of the leasing department of the Southern Oil Company. He lives in Corsicana, where he has been practicing law since graduation.

1892.

S. H. Hopkins, LL. B., *92, is a member of the law firm of Burgess & Hopkins, of Gonzales.

H. F. Lewis, LL. B., '92, has removed from Bonham to Lampasas, where he will continue the practice of law.

E. W. Smith, LL. B., '92, has been appointed supervisor of the eighth census district of Texas. He lives in Nacogdoches.

1893.

Rolla J. Baldwin, B. S., '93, after taking M. D. in the University of Pennsylvania in 1898, located in Lake City, Iowa, where he is now engaged in the general practice of medicine.

C. H. Letzerich, LL. B., '93, is one of the faculty of the Wichita Falls High School.

W. M. Peticolas, LL. B., '93, has removed from Victoria to El Pase. He was formerly a member of the law firm of A. B. and W. M. Peticolas.

Walter 0. Stephens, B. Lit., '93, LL. B., '95, is pastor of the Christian church, Rockwall, Texas.

1894.

W. L. Hay, LL. B., '94, is assistant city attorney of Sherman.

Miss Alice Robbins, B. Lit., '94, is in charge of the department of mathematics in the State Normal, Mankato, Minn. She spent the past summer traveling in Great Britain.

Henry Clay Von Struve, LL. B., '94, is principal of the public school in Hermann, Mo.

Joseph A. Taff, B. S., '94, Assistant Geologist of U. S. Geological Survey, is in charge of the work of the Survey in the Indian Territory.

1895.

Robert L. Wilson, B. S., ’94, M. A., '95, M. D., '98, recently passed the examination for appointment as assistant surgeon in the U. S. Marine Hospital Service.

R. L. Caruthers, B. Lit., '95, LL. B., '97, recently formed a partnership with C. L. Vowell, of Sherman, for the practice of law. The firm name is Vowell & Caruthers.

W. S. Lemly, LL. B., '95, is a justice of the peace of Temple.

Morris Sheppard, B. A., '95, LL. B., '97, M. L. (Yale), '98, is Sovereign Banker of the Woodmen of the World.

E. Dick Slaughter, B. Lit., '95, was married to Miss Carrie L. Graham on January 18th, at St. David's Church, Austin.

H. V. Tull, B. A., '95, is pastor of the Presbyterian churches at Riesel, Lott and Carolina. At present he is taking a course in the Theological Seminary of the Southwestern Presbyterian University at Clarksville, Tenn. His permanent address is Riesel, Texas.

David D. Hamilton, M. D., '96, is practicing medicine at Bevilport.
W. F. Schenck, LL. B., '96, is city attorney of Meridian.

Covey C. Thomas, LL. B., '96, is county attorney and chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee of La Salle county.

W. W. McCrory, LL. B., '97, is county attorney of Jackson county.

J. E. Michalson, B. Lit., '97, is now with A. D. Eddy, counsel for the Standard Oil Co., Chicago, Ill.

W. A. Spalding, C. E., '97, is division engineer of the Eureka Springs and Harrison branch of the "Frisco” railroad.

C. K. Willbanks, B. S., '97, is principal of the Karnes City public school.

W. W. Battle, B. S., '98, is professor of military science and tactics and assistant in science in Baylor University.

M. L. Chapman, M. D., '98, is practicing medicine at Westphalia.

J. W. Lewis, LL. B., '98, is county attorney of Montgomery county-appointed April 13, 1899.

Charles E. Casey, LL. B., '99, is principal of the Oak Hill High School.
J. J. Cypert, LL. B., '99, is teaching in Whitney.
Dudley M. Kent, LL. B., '99, is practicing law in Waco.

Richard A. Goeth, M. D., is county physician of Kendall county.

A. F. Lumpkins, M. D., is a member of the Board of Medical Examiners for the Eighteenth Judicial District.
