ORGANIZATION OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH.

THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT

As defined by the Constitution the Executive Department of the Commonwealth consists of a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Attorney General. Auditor General, State Treasurer, Secretary of Internal Affairs and the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

In addition to these Constitutional executive officers, additional executive offices and administrative departments. boards and commission have, from time to time, been created by statute. The entire executive branch of the State government was reorganized in 1923 under the provisions of "The Administrative Code" (Act of June 7, 1923, P. L. 498).
