SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES.

OCTOBER TERM, 1883.

Ordered by the court that the following letter, order and oath of office be entered upon the minutes of the court.

LETTER.

I have the honor to tender my resignation of the office of Reporter of
the Decisions of the Court, to take effect on the publication of Volume 107
U.S.

ORDER. Mr. William T. Otto having resigned the office of Reporter of the Decisions of this Court, Mr. J. C. Bancroft Davis is appointed in his place. Mr. Davis is charged with the duty of orting the decisions of the esent term from the beginning, and those of the last term not included in the volumes already published by Mr. Otto.

OATH. I, J. C. Bancroft Davis, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties of the office of Reporter of the Supreme Court of the United States according to the best of my abilities and understanding, and that I will support the Constitution of the United States. So help me God.
