THIS day, the Lords being met, a message was sent to the Honourable House of Commons by the Deputy Usher of the Black Rod, acquainting them, that The Lords, authorised by virtue of a Commission under the Great Seal, signed by the Prince Regent, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty, for declaring His Majesty's Royal Assent to several Acts agreed upon by both Houses, do desire the immediate attendance of the Honourable House in the House of Peers to hear the Commission read; and the Commons being come thither, the said Commission, empowering the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, and several other Lords therein named, to declare and notify the Royal Assent to the said Acts, was read accordingly, and the Royal Assent given to An Act to revive and continue for two years, and from thence until the end of the then next Session of Parliament, two Acts made in the fortyseventh and fiftieth years of His present Majesty, for the preventing improper persons from having arms in Ireland. An Act to amend two Acts of the fifty-fourth and fifty-fifth years of His Majesty's reign, to provide for the better execution of the laws in Ireland, by appointing superintending Magistrates and additional constables in counties in certain cases. An Act to further continue until the twenty fifth day of March one thousand eight hundred and twenty, an Act of the seventh year of King George the Second, for the free importation of cochineal and indigo. An Act for making and maintaining a turnpikeroad from and out of the turnpike-road at the bottom of Goalbrook-Dale, in the parish of Madeley, into the turnpike-road leading from Shiffnal to Shrewsbury, at or near a place called WatlingStreet, in the parish of Wellington, all in the 'county of Salop. An Act for making and maintaining a turnpikeroad from the town of Cromford to the town of Belper, and for making a branch of road from and out of the said road, near the River Amber, to join the turnpike-road at Bull-Bridge, all in the county of Derby. This day His Excellency Count Fernan Nunez, Duque de Montellano et Duque del Arco, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from His Catholic Majesty, Ferdinand the Seventh of Spain, had an audience of His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, to deliver his letter of recall; to which he was introduced by Lord Viscount Castlereagh, His Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and conducted by Robert Chester, Esq. Assistant Master of the Ceremonies. Whitehall, May 3, 1817. His Royal Highness the Prince Regent has been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty, to grant to George Frederik Beltz, Esq. Geu Gentleman Usher of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath and Brunswick Herald, the Office of Portcullis Pursuviant of Arms, in the room of John Doddington Forth, Gent, resigned. His Royal Highness the Prince Regent has been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty, to approve of the 39th (or Dorsetshire) Regiment of Infantry being permitted to bear on its colours and appointments, in addition to any other badges or devices which may have been heretofore granted to the Regiment, the word "Vittoria," in commemoration of the distinguished gallantry displayed by that Regiment in the action at Vittoria, in Spain, on 21st June 1813. Whitehall, May 2, 1817. The Lord Chancellor has appointed William Haines, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Gent, to be a Master Extraordinary in the High Court of Chancery. His Royal Highness the Prince Regent was also pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty, to confer the honour of Knighthood on John Salusbury Piozzi Salusbury, Esq. of Bynbella, near Denbigh, North Wales. 1817.
