His Royal Highness the Prince Regent has been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty, to grant permission to the 51st Regiment of Light Infantry to bear on its colours and appointments, in addition to any other badges or devices which may have been heretofore granted to the regiment, the words “ Vittoria” and “. Nivelle,” in commemoration of the services of the regiment at Vittoria on the 21st June 1813, and at Nivelle in November 1813.
