An Abstract of the Report of the Committee having been read by the Rev. Andrew Brandram, one of the Secretaries, it was, on the motion of the Right Hon. the Earl of Harrowby, seconded by the Rev. W. Dealtry,

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

That the Report, an Abstract of which has been read, be received and printed, under the direction of the Committee.

On the motion of the Hon. and Right Rev. the Lord Bishop of Litchfield and Coventry, seconded by the Right Hon. the Earl of Rock-Savage,

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY,

That thanks be given to the Right Hon. Lord Teignmouth, the President, for his Lordship's unremitted attention to the interests of the Institution: and that this Meeting expresses its deep regret for the severe indisposition which has prevented his Lordship from presiding this day as usual.

The Hon. C. J. Shore, Vice-President, acknowledged the vote.

The Rev. Sereno Dwight, was then introduced as the representative of the American Bible Society, and addressed the Meeting.

On the motion of the Right Hon. Lord Calthorpe, seconded by the very Rev. the Dean of Salisbury,

That the thanks of this Meeting be given to their Royal Highnesses the Dukes of York, Cumberland, Sussex, Cambridge, and Gloucester, for their continued patronage to the object of the Institution.

The Rev. Mr. Monod was introduced as the representative of the Paris Bible Society, and addressed the Meeting.

On the motion of Robert Grant, Esq. seconded by the Rev. George Hamilton, from Ireland,

That the thanks of this Meeting be given to the Right Reverend, Right Honourable, and others, the Vice-Presidents, for their continued patronage and support.

The Right Hon. Sir G. H. Rose, Bart. M. P. then introduced Professor Tholuck, of Berlin, as the representative of the Prussian Bible Society, who addressed the Meeting.

On the motion of the Right Hon. Lord Gambier, seconded by J. C. Esten, Esq. Chief Justice of Bermuda,

That the thanks of this Meeting be given to the Treasurer and Secretaries, for their respective exertions in the service of the Institution; and that the Treasurer be requested to continue his services.

John Thornton, Esq. the Treasurer, acknowledged the vote of thanks to himself and the Secretaries; and gave a general statement of the Finances.

LAWS AND REGULATIONS

OF THE

British and Foreign Bible Society.

I. THE Designation of this Society shall be the BRITISH and FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY, of which the sole object shall be to encourage a wider circulation of the Holy Scriptures without Note or Comment: the only Copies in the Languages of the United Kingdom, to be circulated by the Society, shall be of the authorized Version.

II. This Society shall add its endeavours to those employed by other Societies, for circulating the Scriptures through the British Dominions; and shall also, according to its ability, extend its influence to other countries, whether Christian, Mahometan, or Pagan.

III. Each Subscriber of One Guinea annually shall be a Member

IV. Each Subscriber of Ten Guineas at one time shall be a Member for Life.

V. Each Subscriber of Five Guineas annually shall be a Governor.
