(11.)-TREATY of Accession of Wirtemberg to the Treaty of Alliance

of the 25th March, 1815, between the 4 Powers.Signed at Vienna, the 30th May, 1815.

In the Name of the Most Holy and Indivisible Trinity. His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg, animated with the desire of uniting their efforts to secure the tranquillity of Europe, against every attempt by which, under present circumstances, it may be threatened, and His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg having re. solved to this effect, and in consequence of the invitation made to him to accede to the Treaty of Alliance concluded the 25th of March, their Majesties have named, in order to arrange every thing which may be connected with this object;

His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Right Honourable Richard Le Poer Trench, Earl of Clancarty, Viscount Dunlo, Baron Kilconnel, one of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council in Great Britain and also in Ireland,

President of the Committee of the former for the Affairs of Foreign Trade and Plantations, Joint Post-Master-General, Colonel of the Galway Regiment of Militia, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, and one of His said Majesty's Plenipotentiaries at the Congress of Vienna; and

His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg, the Sieur George Ernest Levin, Count of Wintzingerode, Minister of State and of Couferences of His said Majesty, Grand Cross of the Royal Orders of Wurtemberg, and of that of the White Eagle, and Knight of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem :

Who, after exchanging their Full Powers, found in good and due form, have agreed upon the following Articles:

Art. 1. His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg accedes to all the Stipulations of the Treaty of Vienna of the 25th of March, as inserted hereaster, with the exception of the modifications mutually agreed upon by the Il Ird and following Articles of the present Convention.

In consequence of this Accession, His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland engages to consider as equally binding in favour of His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg, all the Stipulations of the Treaty above inserted, which thereby become completely reciprocal.

The High Contracting Powers engage, above all, not to lay down their arms but by common consent.

When the object of the present War shall have been attained, His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland engages, in concert with His Allies, to admit the Plenipotentiaries of His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg, to take a part in the arrangements of the future Peace, in as far as they may concern the interests of His States : His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg reserves to Himself the right of accrediting for this purpose a Minister to the Grand Head-Quarters.

UI. His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg engages on His side, in order to co-operate more effectually in the object of the Alliance, and without regard to ordinary proportions, to raise and keep in the field an Army of 20,000 men, of which 18,000 shall be Infantry, and 2,000 Cavalry, with 24 pieces of Artillery, to be actively employed against the Common Enemy.

In the event of His Majesty's furnishing during the War a Battering Train, it is agreed that he shall be proportionably remunerated.

IV. The Army of His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg shall be formed into, and continue one Corps d'Armée, always under the orders of a Commander named by His Majesty, and under the orders of those whom he shall appoint to command the Divisions and Brigades.

The Troops of His Majesty the King of Wurtemberg shall share . in the trophies, booty, and other military advantages obtained by the Army of which they shall form a part, in the same proportions as the other Corps d'Armée to which they shall be united.

V. The present Treaty shall be ratified, and the Ratifications ex- god changed in the course of 6 weeks, or sooner, if possible.

In faith of which, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed threat present Treaty, and have affixed the Seal of their Arms thereto. Done at Vienna, 30th of May, in the year of our Lord, 1815.
