Mr. Cass submitted the following resolution for consideration: Resolved, That the injunction of secrecy be removed from the proceed. ings of the Senate on the convention between the United States of America and Her Britannic Majesty, concluded at Washington the 19th day of April, A. D. 1850, and from the message and correspondence communicated therewith and from the debates relating thereto.

Resolved, That the Secretary of War be requested to transmit to the Senate in executive session the correspondence of Mr. Schaumburg with the Secretary of War in relation to his claims to continuance as an officer in the Army of the United States.

In pursuance of the 11th article of the treaty with the Chickasaw Indians, signed on the twentieth day of October, 1832, I herewith transmit a recommendation from the Secretary of the Treasury for the investment of a portion of the funds belonging to said nation, for the purpose of obtaining the advice and consent of the Senate to make the investment as therein recommended.
