grace, that with meek heart and due reverence they may hear and receive thy holy word, truly serving thee in holiness and righteousness all the days of their life. And we commend especially unto thy merciful goodness this congregation, which is here assembled in thy name to celebrate the commemoration of the most glorious death of thy Son. And we most humbly beseech thee of thy goodness, O Lord, to comfort and succour all them, who in this transitory life are in trouble, forrow, need, fickness, or any other adversity; especially this thy servant afflicted with fickness. And here we do give unto thee moft high praise and hearty thanks for the wonderful grace and virtue declared in all thy Saints from the beginning of the world, the Patriarchs, Prophets, Apostles, Martyrs, and Confessors; whose examples, O Lord, and stedfastness in thy faith and keeping thy holy commandments, grant us to follow. We commend unto thy mercy, O Lord, all thy servants, who are departed hence from us with the sign of faith, and now do rest in the sleep of peace : Grant unto them, we beseech thee, thy mercy and everlasting peace; and that at the day of the general resurrection, we and all they who are of the mystical body of thy Son, may all together be set on his right hand, and hear that his most joyful voice: Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for
you from the foundation of the world. Grant this, Ó Father, for the sake of thine onlybegotten Son Jesus Christ, our blessed Lord and Sa. viour. Amen,
Then mall the Priest and People say the Lord's
prayer. OUR Father
, who art in heaven; Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen, Then fall the Priest kneel down, and say this prayer
E do not presume to come to this thy table, O
merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy table; but thou art the same Lord, whose property is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of thy dear Son Jesus Christ, and to drink his blood, that our sinful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our souls washed through his most precious blood, and that we may evermore dwell in him and he in
But if the Priest have already received the Holy Eu
charist that day, instead of the foregoing prayer,

giving, standing Almighty, and everliving God, we most heartily
thank thee, for that thou hast vouchsafed to feed us with the most precious body and blood of thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ; and dost assure us thereby of thy favour and goodness towards us, and that we are very members incorporate in the mystical body of thy Son, which is the bleffed company of all faithful people
, and are also heirs through hope of thine everlasting kingdom, by the merits of the most precious death and passion of thy dear Son. And we most humbly beseech thee, O heavenly Father, fo to assist us with thy grace, that we may continue in that holy fellowship, and do all such good works as thou hast prepared for us to walk in, through Jesus Christ our Lord; to whom, with Thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.
Then the Priest Mall turn to the People, and pro
nounce this Blessing THE peace of God, which pafseth all under
standing, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord: And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, be amongst you, and remain with you always. Amen. If a fick person be deþrous of receiving the Communion,
and a Priest is not to be bad, the Deacon may carry the Holy Eucharist to him, and communicate him according to the form before prescribed in the Holy Liturgy.
The ORDER for the
BURIAL of the DE A D.
Here is to be noted, that the office ensuing is not to be
used for any that die excommunicate, or out of the communion of the Church, or unbaptized, (except the person unbaptized be a Catechumen who hath not voluntarily neglected to receive baptism) or for any that have laid violent hands upon
themselves, or were publickly executed for crimes unless they were admitted to the Eucharift before their death, or for any who die in the ačtual commision
of any fin. The Priest and Deacon meeting the Corps at the en
trance of the Church-yard, and going before it into the Church, fall say or fing, AM the resurrection and the life, faith the Lord:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me, shall never die. S. John 11. 25, 26.
I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my
skin worms destroy this body, yet in flesh shall I fee God: whom I shall see for
