grace, that with meek heart and due reverence they may hear and receive thy holy word, truly ferving thee in holiness and righteoufnefs all the days of their life. And we commend especially unto thy merciful goodness this congregation, which is here affembled in thy name to celebrate the commemoration of the most glorious death of thy Son. And we most humbly beseech thee of thy goodness, O Lord, to comfort and fuccour all them, who in this transitory life are in trouble, forrow, need, fickness, or any other adverfity; especially this thy fervant afflicted with fickness. And here we do give unto thee most high praife and hearty thanks for the wonderful grace and virtue declared in all thy Saints from the beginning of the world, the Patriarchs, Prophets, Apoftles, Martyrs, and Confeffors; whofe examples, O Lord, and ftedfaftness in thy faith and keeping thy holy commandments, grant us to follow. We commend unto thy mercy, O Lord, all thy fervants, who are departed hence from us with the fign of faith, and now do reft in the fleep of peace: Grant unto them, we beseech thee, thy mercy and everlafting peace; and that at the day of the general refurrection, we and all they who are of the mystical body of thy Son, may all together be fet on his right hand, and hear that his moft joyful voice: Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Grant this, O Father, for the fake of thine onlybegotten Son Jefus Chrift, our blessed Lord and Sa viour. Amen.

Then fhall the Priest and People Say the Lord's

prayer.

OUR Father, who art in heaven; Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will

be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this

And

day our daily bread. And forgive us our trefpaffes, as we forgive them that trefpass against us. lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Then fhall the Prieft kneel down, and fay this prayer following.

WE do not prefume to come to this thy table, O

merciful Lord, trufting in our own righteoufnefs, but in thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy fo much as to gather up the crumbs under thy table; but thou art the fame Lord, whose property is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, fo to eat the flesh of thy dear Son Jefus Chrift, and to drink his blood, that our finful bodies may be made clean by his body, and our fouls washed through his most precious blood, and that we may evermore dwell in him and he in us. Amen.

But if the Priest have already received the Holy Eucharift that day, instead of the foregoing prayer, he fhall fay the following one, ftanding.

Then shall the Priest receive the Communion himself, (if he have not already received it that day) and after adminifter to them that are appointed to communicate with the fick, and last of all to the fick perfon, according to the form before prescribed in the Holy Liturgy.

After which the Prieft fhall fay the following Thankf giving, ftanding.

ALmighty and everliving God, we most heartily

thank thee, for that thou haft vouchfafed to feed us with the most precious body and blood of thy Son our Saviour Jefus Chrift; and doft affure us thereby of thy favour and goodness towards us, and that we are very members incorporate in the mystical body of thy Son, which is the bleffed company of all faithful people, and are also heirs through hope of thine everlasting kingdom, by the merits of the most precious death and paffion of thy dear Son. And we moft humbly befeech thee, O heavenly Father, fo to affift us with thy grace, that we may continue in that holy fellowfhip, and do all fuch good works as thou haft prepared for us to walk in, through Jefus Chrift our Lord; to whom, with Thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

Then

Then the Prieft fhall turn to the People, and pronounce this Bleffing.

THE peace of God, which paffeth all undertanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son Jefus Christ our Lord: And the bleffing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghoft, be amongst you, and remain with you always. Amen.

If a fick perfon be defirous of receiving the Communion, and a Prieft is not to be had, the Deacon may carry the Holy Eucharift to him, and communicate him according to the form before prescribed in the Holy Liturgy.

The ORDER for the

BURIAL of the DEAD.

Here is to be noted, that the office enfuing is not to be ufed for any that die excommunicate, or out of the communion of the Church, or unbaptized, (except the perfon unbaptized be a Catechumen whe hath not voluntarily neglected to receive baptifm) or for any that have laid violent hands upon themfelves, or were publickly executed for crimes unless they were admitted to the Eucharift before their death, or for any who die in the actual commission of any fin.

The Prieft and Deacon meeting the Corps at the entrance of the Church-yard, and going before it into the Church, fhall fay or fing,

AM the resurrection and the life, faith the Lord: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, shall he live, and whofoever liveth and believeth in me, shall never die. S. John 11. 25, 26.

yet

I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin worms deftroy this body, yet in my flefh fhall I fee God: whom I fhall fee for my felf, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another. Job 19. 25, 26, 27.
