The Encyclopædia Britannica forms a Dictionary The Sixth EDITION, now offered to the Public, has received a variety of corrections and improvements. In the Historical Articles, the narrative has been continued, so as to embrace all the most Memorable Events which have occurred down to the present time. The Geographical and Statistical Articles have been adapted to the late Political Arrangements, and amended by incorporating the new information furnished by recent Travellers, and references have been made to the new Articles in the SUPPLEMENT, now in course of publication ; Encyclopædia Britannica. 3 fkat the whole will form the most complete Repertory of General Knowledge that has yet been given to the Public. The Engravings, of which there are nearly 600, will be found, with a few exceptions, to be entirely new; and the Letter-Press has also been considerably improved. CONDITIONS. I. The Work will consist of Twenty Volumes, handsomely printed, with nearly Six Hundred Engravings, executed in a superior manner; each Volume containing One Hundred Sheets letter-press, or 800 Pages. II. To meet the convenience of every Class of Purchasers, it will be published in Parts or Half. Volumes, each containing Fifty Sheets letter-press, and, at an average, Fifteen Plates. III. The First Part of Volume Sixth will be Published on 1st February next; and a Part or Half-Volume will be regularly published on the first day of each month, till the whole is completed ; and as the printing of the whole is already considerably advanced, purchasers may depend on the most rigid punctuality of publication. IV. The price of each Part of the present Edition will be Sire teen Shillings in Boards, to be paid on delivery.
