Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

The following sums are hereby appropriated to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full compensation for the objects hereinafter named for the two fiscal years ending September 30, 1909: For salaries of the clerks of the courts of common pleas and their assistants in the several counties, as follows: In the county of Hartford, seven thousand dollars; in the county of New Haven, civil side, six thousand dollars, criminal side, four thousand dollars; in the county of Fairfield, civil side, eight thousand dollars, criminal side, three thousand dollars; in the county of New London, civil side, five thousand dollars, criminal side, one thousand dollars; in the county of Litchfield, four thousand dollars: For salary of clerk of the district court of Waterbury, civil side, six thousand dollars, criminal side, one thousand dollars: For clerical expenses and assistance in the court of common pleas in the county of Hartford, one thousand dollars; in the county of New Haven, one thousand dollars; in the county of Fairfield, one thousand dollars; in the district court of Waterbury, one thousand dollars.

The following sum is hereby appropriated to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full compensation for the object hereinafter named for the three months ending September 30, 1907: For salary of the assistant state's attorney for Fairfield county, three hundred and seventy-five dollars.

SEC. 2. This act shall take effect from its passage.

The following sums are hereby appropriated to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full compensation for the objects hereinafter specified for the two fiscal years ending September 30, 1909: For salary and traveling and office expenses of the highway commissioner, twenty-nine thousand dollars; for engineers, deputies, and inspectors, fifty thousand dollars; for operation and maintenance of crushers, five thousand dollars; for making repairs of public roads, fifty thousand dollars.

full compensation for the objects hereinafter specified for the two fiscal years ending September 30, 1909: For salary of the assistant clerk of the treasurer, four hundred dollars; for salary of the judge of the court of common pleas in New Haven county, civil side, two thousand dollars; for salary of the judge of the court of common pleas in New Haven county, criminal side, two thousand dollars; for salary of the deputy judge of the district court of Waterbury, one thousand dollars; for railroad indebtedness of towns, four hundred dollars; for care of state paupers, one hundred thousand dollars; for salary of the chief clerk of the secretary, four hundred dollars; for salary of the chief clerk of the treasurer, four hundred dollars; for salary of the chief clerk of the comptroller, four hundred dollars; for maintaining draw-bridges, seven thousand dollars; said sums to be in addition to any amounts heretofore appropriated for any of said purposes.
