Loading... A Treasury of Children's Literature (edition 1992)by Armand EisenIn this book of stories I read Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I always loved fairytale stories when I was growing up. The writing in this story follows a pattern "this chair is much too hard, this chair is much too soft, this chair is just right!" as Goldilocks travels throughout the house the same pattern continues as she tests out the bears' household items. I also liked the illustrations in this story, although they are small on some pages, they do not overpower the text, however they provide a further understanding of the story. The main idea of this story is not to trespass onto other people's property. An expansive collection of 30 childrens classics including traditional stories such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Sleeping Beauty and Billygoats Gruff. Retold Aesop's Fables, Grimms Fairy Tales and Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales. Lovely illustrations. Perfect for the early reader to explore. Have children pick their favorite tale and explore what elements of the tale make it thier favorite. |
